Prime7 Local News is seeking a driven and inspirational leader to oversee to the day to day operations of our Central West News team.


Based in Orange, this role demands excellence in news gathering, production and will also allow the successful candidate an opportunity to remain an on the road reporter.


Reporting to the Head of News & Current Affairs, this role will give you the latitude to improve your journalism and leadership skills.


Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Leadership to all central west staff to the highest standard
• Ensure that the nightly news bulletin is produced on the correct scheduled time
• Research and prepare news reports, whether in the field or in the office
• Operate on budget
• Provide leadership, direction and development for yourself and your colleagues around you
• Create an effective and respectful rapport with internal and external stakeholders


To be considered for this position, you’ll need:
• Proven experience producing bulletins to a high standard
• Leadership experience with staff development in a news setting
• A strong knowledge of the issues that affect the Central West
• A minimum of three years’ experience
• Quality communication and written skills
• Ability to work to very precise deadlines
• Proficient administration skills
