PRIME7 Local News is seeking a Chief of Staff to join the team.

 

Reporting to the Northern News Editor, you’ll be responsible for getting the best out of our teams of journalists and camera operators in our five northern newsrooms – up and down the North Coast, and in Tamworth.

 

You will thrive on the immediacy of breaking news, planning ahead, and motivating our teams.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Highest standard of leadership to all our Coastal team
• Ensure that the nightly news bulletin is produced on the correct scheduled time
• Research and prepare news reports, whether in the field or in the office
• Provide leadership, direction and development for yourself and your colleagues around you
• Create an effective and respectful rapport with internal and external stakeholders

 

To be considered for this position, you’ll need:
• Proven experience producing bulletins to a high standard
• Leadership experience with staff development in a news setting
• A strong knowledge of the issues that affect the Mid north and North Coast of NSW
• Quality communication – particularly over the phone and without face to face meetings
• Quality written skills
• Ability to work to very precise deadlines
• Proficient administration skills

 

Ideally, you'll have several years’ experience in a television or radio newsroom. At times you'll be required to fill in for the Northern Editor.
